AGE presents at Graduate Student Symposium, Ryerson University. ‘Informing the GPA Bathing Curriculum: Integration of Evidence and Stakeholder Feedback’

Our GPA Bathing Curriculum is currently in development.

Graduate student Ravinder (Raavi) Palial, RN, BScN, MN presents at Ryerson University, Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing Graduate Student Symposium for Professional Nursing Advancement. Raavi worked with co-preceptors Dr. Lori Schindel Martin and Jennifer Briand of Advanced Gerontological Education.

Bathing represents one of the most challenging activities of daily living (ADLs) in persons living with dementia (PLwD), requiring assistance from caregivers. A person-centred approach, embedded in the principles of Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA), conceptualizes bathing as a pleasant experience and results in decreased responsive behaviours.
